Billy Collins to Teach at OSAI!

Former U.S. poet laureate Billy Collins will teach at the 2009 Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain this June. The bestselling author and other artists from around the world will teach Oklahoma high school students at the prestigious two-week academy in the visual, literary, and performing arts. Auditions for the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute (OSAI) begin in January, and every accepted student automatically receives a full scholarship to the program, worth over $2,000. More info

Oklahoma House Speaker Chris Benge has chosen the Oklahoma Arts Institute, Oklahoma's Official School of the Arts, as the beneficiary of the 2009 Speaker's Ball. The bipartisan event will raise funds for the Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain, a prestigious academy for Oklahoma high school students taught by award-winning artists. The ball is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 6 at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, and will feature dinner, dancing, silent and live auctions, entertainment, and more. More Info
