The Details: The Oklahoma Fall Arts Institute (OFAI) is a series of weekend retreats for adults during the months of October and November. Nationally-renowned artists teach classes in drawing, painting, sculpting, printmaking, photography, music, theater, writing, storytelling, dance, arts integration and more. All Oklahoma public school educators automatically receive full scholarships to OFAI, including tuition and room and board. The Environment: Quartz Mountain State Park in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, overlooks the peaceful waters of Lake Altus-Lugert. An ancient, sacred, and inspiring site, Quartz Mountain was ceremonial grounds for Kiowa, Comanche, Wichita, Apache, and Caddo tribes. Today, Quartz Mountain is home to an Arts and Conference Center. The Center is an ideal retreat for arts immersion. With the 700-seat Twin Peaks Performance Hall, a state-of-the-art darkroom, five studio pavilions, an outdoor amphitheater, the Beverly Badger Memorial Library, and the Quartz Mountain Art Collection, the Arts and Conference center is the region's artistic epicenter. Nature lovers enjoy hiking and biking trails, bird watching, and a unique Oklahoma ecosystem. The Arts and Conference Center at Quartz Mountain is truly an Oklahoma treasure.

How much does it cost to attend the Oklahoma Fall Arts Institute?
Oklahoma public school teachers and administrators automatically receive full scholarships to OFAI, including tuition and room and board.
Scholarships are provided by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and private donors. Additional funding is provided by the Oklahoma Arts Council.
Educators are responsible for a non-refundable $30 registration fee, and most classes require participants to provide materials. Scholarships and workshop space are administered on a first come, first served basis, so register today!
Contributions from the private sector allow the Institute to offer OFAI workshops to private citizens at half the actual cost of attendance. Private citizens are encouraged to attend the Oklahoma Arts Institute at a total cost of $580, plus materials. This cost includes a $30 non-refundable registration fee.
How much work will I miss?
Most people will miss only two days of work. Participants check in from 10:00 a.m. - noon on Thursday and check out at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The vast majority of school districts support teachers' OFAI attendance and provide substitutes.
Local educational foundations may assist with attaining substitutes.
What is the registration deadline?
OAI must receive registration materials for the workshop at least one week before the workshop begins. (For example, registrations for the October 11th workshops are due October 4th.)
Workshops fill quickly, so register as soon as possible!
Can I earn professional development hours for attending OFAI?
Yes. Upon completion of each workshop, participants receive a certificate for 18 hours of professional development.
Can I earn college credit for attending OFAI?
No. College credit is no longer available.
What kind of housing and accommodations can OFAI participants expect?
All participants are housed in the Quartz Mountain Lodge. Guestrooms are well-appointed and include amenities such as private balconies/patios, cable television, coffeemakers and hairdryers.
All participant rooms are double occupancy. If space allows, private rooms are available for an additional $100 fee.
Meals are served in the Sundance Café at the Quartz Mountain Lodge. Vegetarian options are available at each meal, and other dietary restrictions can usually be accommodated.
OFAI participants reserving a single room may bring a spouse/guest for an additional fee of $35.
